The old Health app was a database you had to dig through, MacRumors says. The iOS 27.2 beta replaces it with two tabs, Insights for today and Longevity for the long run, and the video sorts what's live in beta 1 from what Apple is holding back. It also has a theory for the missing 27.1 beta: the iPhone Duo ships with iOS 27.1 on October 23, and that code would leak details Apple didn't cover at its events.
Longevity is the headline. It follows seven categories, hearing and nutrition among them, with data from the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro, and shades each one in against clinical guidance. Health Age sits inside it: Apple's version of a biological age, worked out from VO2 max, resting heart rate, HRV, and sleep. Longtime Apple Watch wearers should see it soon after updating, per MacRumors, since it draws on past data. The same tab adds at-home movement assessments that use the iPhone camera and the Watch to test flexibility, strength, balance, and VO2 max, and Apple says no video is recorded or leaves the device.
The daily half is Insights, a check-in that turns heart, sleep, fitness, and vitals into plain sentences. On an Apple Watch Series 12 or Ultra 4 it also carries the readiness score, a 0 to 10 rating with advice that runs from Recover to Go For It. Missing from beta 1: the For You recommendations, personalized summaries, and the option to order a Quest Diagnostics lab panel, which Apple says covers over 50 biomarkers.
The hardware gate matters more than the feature list. The redesign needs an iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence, Health Age needs an Apple Watch, and it all starts in US English, so iPhoners on older phones sit this one out.
