PITAKA's Magnetic Stand Woven Wallet looks like a small textured panel until it opens. The fold becomes a support for an iPhone in portrait or landscape, and the back carries the magnetic ring. The weave is subtle. It is a useful answer to the usual MagSafe wallet problem: a card holder that does nothing once the phone is propped up on a desk.

The exterior uses PITAKA's Cadmyra material, described by the company as an aramid-based weave with a softer, leather-like touch. It holds one or two cards, weighs 67 g, and attaches to a bare MagSafe iPhone or a MagSafe-compatible case. The company specifies N52 magnets and an internal layer intended to shield cards from the magnets.

That one- or two-card limit is worth taking literally. The Bellroy Mag Wallet already gives iPhoner readers another stand-equipped option, so this one needs to win on its narrow profile and woven finish. It should suit a transit card and an ID better than someone trying to replace a full wallet.

What it carries

  • One or two cards in the pocket
  • Portrait or landscape support from the folding back
  • MagSafe attachment to a compatible iPhone or case

One hand can push a card out through the slot after the holder is opened. PITAKA separately claims magnetic shielding for the cards and tap-through use of a contactless card. The wallet is 10.8 mm thick, so the fold and stand do add a noticeable layer to a phone.

At 67 g, this is substantial for a wallet that takes only two cards. The stand should be the reason to carry it; a flat sleeve will make more sense if minimal bulk comes first. I would want to handle the hinge before trusting it as a daily desk stand, but the folding mechanism gives the product a clearer purpose than a decorative weave alone.
