The most interesting part of Nomad's Traditional Leather Case is its edge. Horween leather runs around the sides of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, where the Modern Leather Case uses a contrasting protective bumper. It is a small change in construction with a large effect on how the phone looks in hand.
Nomad uses full-grain leather from Horween in the US. The hide is minimally treated, so variations and marks remain visible. Rustic Brown, Saddle, Black and a limited Burgundy offer quite different moods, but all should change as the leather develops a patina. Anyone who wants a permanently even finish should probably choose another material.

The hardware keeps the case from feeling like a simple leather sleeve. There are anodized aluminum buttons and a matching camera ring, a tactile Camera Control button, a raised screen lip and a recessed lanyard attachment area. Magnets support MagSafe accessories and Qi2 charging. Nomad lists separate Pro and Pro Max sizes, and says each iPhone 18 case also fits the corresponding iPhone 17 model.

The tradeoff is protection. Nomad advertises an 8-foot drop rating for its Clear Leather Case, but makes no equivalent claim for Traditional Leather Case. That absence matters more than a vague promise about toughness: the full-wrap look is the reason I would choose this case, while a bumper case is the safer choice for someone who drops a phone often.
What draws me to this case is the uninterrupted leather surface against the iPhone's metal camera hardware. The Rustic Brown version looks particularly restrained. Leather wear will be personal, and the finish will not stay exactly like the product photo. That is part of the appeal for a patina lover and a reason to pause for anyone who likes a pristine case.
