The first decision with a folding phone is what to cover. Apple's iPhone Duo Case uses two thin polycarbonate pieces, one around each half of the device. A matte coating keeps the look quiet, and magnets line up with the phone's wireless charging hardware. It's the simplest case Apple sells for the Duo.

The front frame protects the outer display's perimeter. The rear piece covers the back without closing over the hinge. That leaves the fold free to move and avoids adding a broad spine to an already thick closed phone. It also means the hinge itself remains exposed when the phone is in a bag or pocket.

  • Material: matte-coated polycarbonate
  • Coverage: rear shell and outer-display frame
  • Charging: MagSafe, Qi2 25W, and Qi

Apple says the case works with MagSafe, Qi2 25W, and ordinary Qi chargers. Charging compatibility is only part of MagSafe fit: a wallet or battery pack still has to clear the Duo's camera module and sit on its shorter, wider back. Apple doesn't promise that every older accessory will look or hold right.

Navy Blue and Sand are the two available colors. Both leave the same visible break at the fold, and neither adds a front flap over the outer display. The choice here is the restrained shape, not extra coverage. The shell is best read as protection for the back and display perimeter.

This case makes sense for a Duo that mostly lives in a pocket and on a desk. Anyone who regularly drops a phone should compare the moving hinge protection on a Defender or Slim Armor before treating Apple's neatest case as its toughest.
