SANDMARC's 96mm Telephoto Lens makes an iPhone look a little like a compact camera with an unusually large barrel. The lens mounts over the iPhone 18 Pro's tetraprism telephoto camera and adds 4x optical magnification to that camera's view. It is the sort of accessory you pack for a particular photograph, not one to leave on the phone all day.

The lens has multi-element, multi-coated glass, weighs 255 g, measures 88.9 mm tall and is 46 mm across. That weight is close to the phone itself, which explains why a grip or two-handed hold may be more comfortable outdoors. SANDMARC includes an iPhone mounting case, clip-on mount and lens pouch. Its free Camera app is required to select the telephoto sensor with this lens.

The 4x optical figure is the useful spec. SANDMARC also markets much larger combined zoom numbers, but those involve the iPhone camera's own zoom modes and should not be mistaken for a single 32x glass lens. A glass lens can extend the reach of the telephoto camera, though sample images alone do not settle edge sharpness or how easily the phone can be held steady.

The lens extends far enough from the phone to change how it is held. A two-handed grip looks more realistic than casual one-handed shooting, particularly when composing a distant subject. The Moment Camera Case offers a different lens system; existing Moment lenses should not be assumed to fit the SANDMARC mount.

The 96mm is compelling for deliberate distant subjects and compressed framing, especially if the user already carries a small photo kit. Its size, weight and app requirement are real costs in convenience. I would bring it to a planned shoot and leave it at home for ordinary travel photos.
