Five filter types, one shared 43mm thread. SANDMARC's iPhone filter line is a screw-in system: each filter threads onto a clip that grips over the camera cluster, or onto a SANDMARC case through a step-up ring.
The lineup
- Hybrid ND/PL: ND16, ND32, and ND64 glass with a built-in polarizer, sold as a set of three
- Motion: a variable ND running ND8 to ND64, three to six stops
- Drama: a circular polarizer for glare and reflections
- Retro: a diffusion-mist filter with a polarizer layer
- Star: multi-coated glass that draws four-to-eight-point flares on light sources
The hardware is light. Motion, the variable ND, weighs 20 grams in its aluminum frame, with ND levels laser-etched on the ring and a 43mm thread stepping out to 58mm. The included clip grips any phone, Android included, and SANDMARC's product shots show it centering the round glass over the iPhone's full camera cluster; the screw-in path through a case also takes its telephoto, wide, and anamorphic lenses. One caveat sits in SANDMARC's own spec sheet: light leaks can creep in when the sun hits the back of the clip.
ZJ Michaels ran the Drama polarizer and the ND set on an iPhone 16 Pro in February 2025, shooting unedited side-by-sides where the polarizer cut haze and pulled glare off river water, and called the set "a great tool for iPhone photography and videography." He shot manual through the ProCamera app, since the stock Camera app gives no shutter or ISO control, and SANDMARC supplied his review units. The longest-running data point is older: Jason Row at Light Stalking tested the clip-era Hybrid set in 2019, found the color neutrality excellent and the footage "smooth and fluid yet remained sharp," and called the polarizer underwhelming for stills.
iPhoners already inside SANDMARC's lens system get the filters as screw-on extras; everyone else starts at the clip. The thread outlasts the phone: a 2019 Hybrid mounts like a 2025 Star.
