Eleven car mounts carry a 25 W rating. In MobileReviewsEh's test, two barely charged the iPhone at all. The channel measured average power into a bare iPhone 17 Pro battery over 30 minutes, starting near 15%, with each mount on its own cable and the same 140 W Apple power supply. For the force tests, it switched to an iPhone 18 Pro.
Three mounts that delivered on charging speed
- ESR OmniLock CryoBoost. The fastest mount put an average of 19.1 W into the battery. Its surface peaked at 35.3 degrees Celsius in the channel's test. There's a dual-port car adapter in the box, so the driver can use the mount and still plug in a second device.
- LISEN 2E7179 Vent/Dash. This model averaged 19.0 W into the iPhone, and the channel measured 17.6 W with its Pixel. It includes a 95 W car adapter and an adhesive dashboard mount as an alternative to using a vent. It's the one the reviewer would put in a shared car.
- Spigen Cryomax MagFit. The iPhone battery received 18.8 W, but the mount's surface hit 44.1 degrees Celsius despite its active cooling. It drew more power to get there, and you'll need to supply your own car adapter.
For the hold test, the channel puts the charging gear aside. Pulling the phone toward the driver and sliding it toward the floor give different winners.
What the force meter and the model numbers tell you
- Downward slide. The LISEN resisted a vertical slide up to 14.8 newtons in the channel's test, against 10.8 for the ESR. That's the direction I'd check first for a heavy phone riding over a rough patch of road.
- Straight pull. Spigen took 15.9 newtons to pull straight off the mount. That helps explain why it felt secure even though it took less force to slide the phone sideways. The channel tested each direction three times.
- Two near misses. The UGREEN W778 delivered 1.4 W. A different LISEN, the 2E7187 Suction, delivered just 0.4 W into the same iPhone battery. The shared brand name is little help in telling the two LISEN mounts apart.
The title mentions the iPhone Duo, but the channel didn't measure charging speed on that phone. For an iPhoner choosing a Duo mount, the 18 Pro force readings are a reason to check the hold with the phone unfolded before taking it on the road.
