PackGoat is a packing-list app for iPhone that turns photos of your gear into item stickers. PackGoat's automatic item naming requires iOS 27. Those pictures belong to a reusable library, so the same charger or pair of shoes can appear in the next trip's list without being entered again.
Templates gather items into kits you actually use, such as climbing equipment or toiletries. Add a kit to a trip, then adjust what belongs in that particular bag. Quantity rules can follow days or nights, or keep an item at a fixed count, while entered weights contribute to a bag total. Templates can also carry tasks, so remembering a power bank can include the reminder to charge it before leaving.

9to5Mac highlighted the generated lists but also noted that templates work without an Apple Intelligence device. I'd start there: a list built from equipment you recognize is easier to check than a suggestion you haven't used before. The weight display depends on the weights you enter, too; it's a planning total, not a measurement of the packed bag.
PackGoat makes most sense for repeated kinds of travel. A kit that stays useful between trips is the reason I'd keep a separate packing app.
