Apple still has an October launch window to fill, and a 43-second Short from Max Tech gets ahead of it with what it calls a fully leaked iPad mini 8: renders of a redesign with an OLED screen, the first on an iPad outside the Pro line, and the same chip as the iPhone 18 Pro.

The OLED part has the firmest footing. Bloomberg reported in August that a new mini with an OLED display, a new speaker system, more water resistance, and a faster chip is due by the end of October, per MacRumors. That report named an A19 Pro or an A20, so the 18 Pro's A20 Pro is the leak's claim, not Bloomberg's. Size is looser still: the iPad mini 7 is 8.3 inches, and the video expects anywhere from 8.4 to 8.7.

A bump toward 8.7 inches was already circulating with the OLED iPad mini rumors in June, which leaves the renders as the only new material, and the Short never says where they came from. For the way I'd use a mini, mostly reading, the screen is the upgrade that matters; the chip is a bonus this leak hasn't proven.
