The Apple TV 4K hasn't changed since 2022, and Matt Talks Tech expects that to end at Apple's "Welcome home" launch on October 13. Its read on the long gap is Siri AI: Apple held back a 2024 model because the assistant it was meant to run wasn't ready.

The leaks the video rounds up split on the chip. A plain A19 would match the iPhone 17e's, with a six-core CPU and a four-core GPU; an A19 Pro would follow the iPhone Air's, with the same CPU and a five-core GPU. Either way, memory rises from 4 GB to 8 or 12 GB, which is what lets Siri AI run on the box, down to asking questions about a film while it plays. The N1 networking chip adds Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread, and a redesigned Siri Remote is expected too. Earlier Apple TV code pointed to the same two chips.

Outside, the box is expected to look the same, possibly in a different plastic. HDMI passthrough is on the video's wish list, not in any leak. The description cites Bloomberg for availability on October 30, while the video itself won't commit beyond "this month".

Memory is the spec to watch on October 13. A 4 GB Apple TV can't run Siri AI at all, and anyone shopping for one this week loses nothing by waiting for the announcement.
