Getting back up costs you years. Sifu is a martial-arts brawler for iPhone and iPad in which a mysterious amulet revives a fighter pursuing the people who killed their family, but each return brings an older body into the next encounter.
Enemy groups can surround you. Parry or dodge an attack, strike during the opening, and use a nearby object or weapon when the crowd starts closing in. The story campaign is present in full. The store also describes a reworked mobile camera and contextual interactions. Physical controllers are supported, so the touch layout is one option for performing those moves rather than the only route through the campaign.

The premise appeals to me because failure changes the next attempt. Mobile Gamer describes the mobile adaptation's focus on dodges, parries, and environmental attacks, but recent iOS feedback gives me pause. An October App Store reviewer praised touch play while finding joystick-flick moves difficult; other late-October and November reviews report inputs sticking or failing to register. Those complaints postdate the October maintenance update.
I'd put Sifu on the list for players who enjoy practicing a fight until its timing clicks. Before committing to a long run, check how the controls behave on your own device.
