The pitch to skip the iPhone 18 arrived a day after pre-orders opened. Matt Talks Tech lists ten rumors for Apple's 20th-anniversary iPhone next year, the model the channel calls the iPhone 20, and tells iPhone 14, 15, and 16 owners to wait for it, over renders the channel made itself to illustrate the rumors.
The design claim is the best-sourced. Bloomberg has reported a glass-centric iPhone with curved glass wrapping all four edges and thinner bezels, still on track for next year per MacRumors' tracking, and solid-state haptic buttons and an Apple-designed camera sensor have both been reported for the same phone. The rest of the list is roadmap guesswork: a second-generation 2nm A21 Pro, a C3 modem with satellite data, and a silicon-carbon battery the channel expects to clear 50 hours of video.
The rumor behind the renders' clean front is the shakiest. Apple wants Face ID and the selfie camera under the display, but the display analyst DSCC has said the technology is unlikely to be fully ready for next year, which could leave a small cutout. The channel concedes the Duo's under-display camera isn't sharp yet, the same weakness the iPhone Duo footnotes flagged at 1080p.
