Days before Apple's September 9 keynote, Max Tech runs the Ultra rumor pile: seven late leaks beyond the phone everyone now expects, the passport-shaped fold with a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 7.8-inch inner display (my September 9 preview has the rest). The video doesn't rank the seven, so I will.
Two hold up on their own. The A20 Pro leak is an annotated die shot, read by Max Tech as the same six-core CPU with a seven-core GPU; the performance charts after it are Max Tech's own estimates. The supply story is Nikkei Asia's September 4 report that Apple built only a few hundred Ultras a day in August because its hinge and flatness checks run stricter than rivals'. Bloomberg told Tom's Guide it expects the fold to ship with the Pros or within weeks, so the video says to treat pre-orders like a sneaker drop.
So, if you want an iPhone Ultra, set your alarms and don't sleep on it.
The dual-layer ultra-thin glass claim arrives without a named source, so it's a maybe; the flood of third-party cases proves the design leaked, not that it's final. The price rests on a friend of a friend at an Australian carrier and the repair figure on a bare rumor, so both numbers stay out. The one leak with a paper trail is iPhone Handoff, which puts one number on two iPhones; I covered it when the setup flow surfaced in iOS 27, and the video pitches it as a way to keep a Pro Max telephoto.
Ranked, then: die shot and Nikkei report solid, glass and cases plausible, prices noise. The repair rumor, whatever the number, is the old first-generation argument: early adopters find out how a folding screen fails, and everyone else buys the second one.
