iOS 27.2 shipped with more than its betas showed, and the weekly recap on Brandon Butch's channel starts with the Siri changes that turned up only in the final build. The first one most people will notice: Siri can now recall what it told you in earlier conversations.

What Siri does now

  • Conversation recall. Ask what Siri said last week and it pulls up earlier exchanges. In the video it couldn't find one specific piece of advice, but it did surface other past chats.
  • More places to search. Siri AI now draws on photos attached in Messages, calendar event attendees, voicemails, and Safari history and Reading List, so a photo never saved to the library can still turn up.
  • Excluded apps. A new list in Siri settings keeps chosen apps out of Siri search and suggestions. Every app is included by default.
  • Partial copy. You can select part of a Siri response instead of copying all or nothing.

Photos, FaceTime and the rest

  • Editable shared album comments. A long press edits a comment or caption in a shared album, with no time limit.
  • SynthID watermark. An invisible mark identifies images made or changed with generative tools in Photos and Image Playground.
  • Dual capture in group FaceTime. Front and rear cameras at once now work in group calls, and a call can add a third-party interpreter or sign language interpreter.
  • Edge Light on the iPhone Duo. The Mac's ring light arrives with adjustable warmth and intensity, and it works on any call, FaceTime or otherwise.
  • Games and Find My. The Games app's Friends tab shows what friends are playing, and the latest Siri Remote appears in Find My.

What to know before updating

  • Security. Apple's notes list 162 fixed vulnerabilities, and the channel says none was being actively exploited.
  • The Duo lags behind. The channel's 18 Pro Max runs 27.2 well, with a little more screen-on time than the release candidate, while its Duo shows more bugs and interface glitches.
  • iOS 27.3 is close. Apple's China newsroom ties Apple Intelligence in China to November 4 there, which points to beta 1 on November 3 in the US and a release in the first half of December.

The security count is why I'd update now rather than wait for 27.3. The channel ties the size of the list to AI tools finding bugs faster, and if that holds, long patch lists will keep arriving with point releases.
