TOEM spent four years on PC and consoles, where the camera was a button. On iPhone, the camera is the phone. TOEM: A Photo Adventure is a hand-drawn, black-and-white puzzle adventure for iPhone and iPad that has you solve other people's problems by photographing the right thing, the same game that won the BAFTA for Best Debut Game before reaching iOS in October 2025.
You walk a small traveler from town to town on the way up a mountain, trading favors for the stamps that earn each bus ride onward. Taking a photo flips the view to first person, with a zoom slider and buttons to flip, browse the album, and snap, and Pocket Gamer notes the gyroscope nudges the frame as you tilt, so it feels like shooting with the actual phone. Every new critter goes into a compendium. The store screenshots even frame the viewfinder with a small snail in each corner.

Pocket Gamer scored it 4.5 out of 5 and called that camera feel "very good" with one caveat: a few puzzles get tricky, though you can skip them without penalty. App Store reviews lean on the art and the chill soundtrack and agree on two gripes. It's short, with one player finishing in under a day, and backtracking through the same areas drags without a quicker way to travel. iPhoners who play on a Backbone may lose the gyro camera, too; one review says it stopped working with the controller attached.
TOEM 2 is already announced. After this port, a version of it that skipped the iPhone would be leaving the obvious camera behind.
