A duck in aviator goggles, pistol up, facing a horde of mutated zombies across a line of gun towers. Duck Survival is a roguelike tower defense shooter for iPhone and iPad that splits each round into a day of building and a night of holding the wall.
Daytime is the planning half. You spend resources recruiting soldiers and placing Machine Gun Towers and EMP Towers, then nightfall sends nearly a hundred zombies and a few giant bosses at whatever you built. Skills drop mid-fight as a random pick, Meteor Strike or Frost Shield one run and something else the next, and heroes such as an agent or a baby dragon with a machine gun each carry an element that stacks into squad synergies.

What works
- Five hero elements (Burning, Lightning, Frost, Energy, Physical) to mix across a squad
- Guild Boss fights and Arena PvP beyond the base defense
What to know
- Accounts reset after an update or a long break, per several App Store reviews
- One reviewer closes the app whenever a new-mode tutorial locks the screen
Fans in the App Store reviews call the night waves addictive, and the complaints land on everything around them: red-dot notifications that mostly lead to the shop, and players who don't spend falling behind once a server has run for a while. iPhoners on cellular should also know one review says the game refuses to connect anywhere but Wi-Fi.
The siege is why I'd install it.
